About Tom Riddell

Tom Riddell began serving as a humanities teacher at the Kent Technology Academy (KTA) at Mill Creek Middle School in 2006. During the 2009-2010 school year, Tom served as a Teacher on Special Assignment for the Information Technology Department, focusing on community outreach and innovation. While valuing this experience, his love for students drew him back to the KTA. Tom is excited to return and to be able to continue to follow his passion for infusing twenty-first century technology into the education experience for all students.

Tom grew up on a dairy farm in Orting, Washington and attended high school in Tacoma. After graduating from college in 1998, Tom accepted a position with an international corporation. He returned to school in 2001 to begin a new career in teaching with the Kent School District. Tom first served as the Media Specialist at Emerald Park Elementary (2002-2006), before joining the Academy.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the College of Idaho (1998); an Elementary Education Endorsement from Eastern Washington University (2001); a Master's in Education from Eastern Washington University (2002); and a K-12 Library/Media Endorsement from Seattle Pacific University (2005).
